What to do in the event of an accident
In the event of an accident you should obtain the following information:
- The names, contact details and vehicle details of all party's involved.
- The insurance details including the policy numbers of all party's involved.
- Details of any witnesses to the incident or members of an Garda Siochana that attended the scene of the accident.
- Do not admit responsibility or sign any statement to that effect.
In the event of an accident you are obliged to provide:
- The name and address of both you and the vehicle owner.
- The registration and insurance details of your vehicle should be provided to any other party involved and also An Garda Siochana if requested
- If any person is injured, the accident must be reported to An Garda Siochana whether they attend the scene or not.
- Contact us to report the incident as soon as possible on 1890 779 999, or if you are outside the Republic of Ireland on 00 353 1 6133666.
