Nico Rosberg beat Lewis Hamilton to victory in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

With Mercedes dominant, Rosberg maintained his recent superiority over teammate Hamilton by taking the win from pole position with a composed drive.

The Englishman, who secured the Drivers’ Championship title a month ago, finished in second place at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Rosberg, having taken his fifth consecutive pole position, produced a composed and determined performance to hold off his teammate at Interlagos, Sao Paulo on Sunday.

Nico Rosberg has held off the determined challenge of Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton to win the Mexican Grand Prix.

The German started on pole and led throughout to hold off the new world champion by just under two seconds.

Rosberg's fourth win of the season - his first victory in four months - saw him leapfrog Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, whose poor display ended when he crashed out, into second spot in the drivers' standings.
