Allianz Football Leagues – Celebrating 25 Years of Support
Kerry lead the all time leaderboard but Dublin are in search of first ever 5-in-a-row
The countdown is on to the start of the 2017 Allianz Football Leagues, which begin on February 4th and continues until the finals weekend on April 8/9, by which time 116 games across the four Divisions will have been played.
This year, Allianz celebrates 25 years of sponsoring the Allianz Leagues, making it one of the longest sponsorships in Irish sport.
Kerry are is the most successful team in the competition with 19 Allianz Football Div 1 titles to their name and, boasting one of the greatest ever teams to talk to the field, landed four titles in a row in the 1970’s.
Dublin are second in the roll of honours with 12 titles to their name and, with a team to rival the Kerry team of the 1970’s, they are now in search of a record of their own, the first ever Allianz League five in a row.
