Back to School Tips and Tricks

With the memories of summer distantly behind us and the darker mornings beginning to kick in it can be hard to manage the hectic, long days. So here are some helpful tips that we think will make the ‘back to school’ transition a little easier such as creating fromafamily calendars, meal time prep and safety precautions for daily commutes. We want you to carry out your day in the safest, simplest way for you.

Family Calendar

With so many activities starting back after the summer it can be difficult to remember who is going where and on what day. What we suggest here at Allianz is to have family weekly whiteboard/ chalkboard planner that that keeps track of your activities, you can place it somewhere where everyone in the family goes several times a day, we findthe fridge is a hot spot. Apps such as ‘Hub Family Organizer’ and ‘TimeTree: Shared Calendar’ are also fun tools if you prefer having access on your mobile device.

Plan your Meals

Food shopping is essential but is also expensive! Why not try to avoid popping to the shop on a daily basis, going for the takeaway option and instead plan your meals (breakfast, lunches and dinner), buy the ingredients you need for the week and then once you have your daily meal plans you are guaranteed to remain within budget. We recommend weekend evenings to start planning your meals to help ease the workload during the week. This hopefully will save you some money which you can even use for an activity on the weekend.

Prepare for Morning Mayhem

With more traffic congestion and pedestrians on the road it is essential to be aware of your surroundings during your daily commute so prepare to leave earlier in the morning with more road users out and about. From our recent research on driving distractions 37% of participants said that ‘’daydreaming’’ was a top distraction. Whether you’re a cyclist, pedestrian or driver it is important to remain alert and safe when you’re on the road.
