Allianz Business to Arts Awards 2017 – The Wait Is Nearly Over!
On Monday next, 4th September, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre will come alive once again, but this time not for a show or play, instead the Docklands venue will host the annual Allianz Business to Arts Awards which recognise the importance of the partnership between arts and business.
Allianz’s sponsorship of Business to Arts spans 17 years and during this time many worthy projects, organisations and businesses have been acknowledged for their contribution to the arts and community at these awards.
One award on the night has particular resonance with the staff of Allianz Ireland. For a number of years to engage staff with this key sponsorship, Allianz have asked staff to nominate local artists, art groups or organisation for the Allianz Community Art Award. These are local initiatives that make a meaningful contribution to the staff members’ local community. Following the nomination process judging and selection of the winning entry is a duty proudly undertaken by Allianz’s CSR Committee. Speaking about this year’s nominations Robert McEvoy, Head of Market Management at Allianz Ireland said “Our corporate social responsibility committee had a challenging job in deciding the eventual winner of this year’s award,”
When asked about the submissions for the other awards on the night Mr McEvoy, who is also a member of the Board of Directors of Business to Arts noted, “There was a really good range of very worthy programmes of work addressing important issues such as mental health, improving literacy, disability and workplace diversity”
Damien O’Neill, Head of Marketing Operations at Allianz commented that “Allianz’s support of both the Allianz Business to Arts Awards in the Republic of Ireland and Allianz Arts and Business Awards in Northern Ireland is an easy natural fit as Allianz have been supporting people and communities in Ireland since 1890.”
