You should notify Allianz that the building work is taking place and check to ensure the building contractor has
adequate insurance in place.

You can ask the architect in charge of the project to check the buildings contractors insurance is adequate and confirm
same to you in writing.

You can forward a copy of the building contractors insurance to Allianz or your insurance intermediary.

If you are engaged in a new building project, it is essential that you request a professional valuation of the completed
building. We recommend that this is agreed and included at the beginning of the contract so any cost can be
absorbed in the contract price.

If the School are building an extension, they should also request a professional valuation of the newly revised School.
If this is not practical for smaller extensions, please contact the Allianz School Support Team or your local Allianz
Representative directly who can visit your School and provide guidance in relation to Sums Insured.

Can you please advise if the modular building has a certificate of installation to a standard of LPS 1181/1208 or FM 4880/4881/4882?  The suppliers will be able to confirm this to the school.
Yes, it is advisable to notify Allianz of any buildings works (including summer works) so we can note your Custodian
School Protection policy and provide any assistance that may be required.

It is a legal requirement that all lifting plant (below) is inspected at regular intervals to meet your statutory
requirements under Safety Health & Welfare at Work Act 2007.

If your School has any of the following items, Engineering Insurance will be required:

  • Passenger/Goods Lifts
  • Service Lifts
  • Patient Hoists
  • Eye Bolts/Suspension Points
  • Mobile Elevating Work Platforms
  • Wheelchair Lifts
  • Tail Lifts
  • Runway Tracks (lift shafts etc.)

 

In addition to the two inspections carried out annually, the plant is insured for Sudden Unforeseen Damage, Accidental Damage,
Breakdown, & Explosion / Collapse.
