Third Party, Fire & Theft

Fire and Theft damage to your car*

Unlimited Personal injury legal liability to Third Parties

Third Party property damage, legal liability upto a limit of €1,300,000

Access to our Emergency Service in the event of fire, theft or attempted theft

*Limited to a maximum of your car’s market value at the time of loss or damage.

Driving abroad

We provide your policy cover for driving within Northern Ireland, Great Britain, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. We also provide the minimum cover required while you drive in any EU country and other countries which have made arrangements to meet the minimum insurance requirements set out by the EU.

Windscreen Cover

Windscreen cover generally covers damage to the vehicle windscreen. Our windscreen cover also covers damage to other glass in the vehicle. Windscreen cover is only included with comprehensive cover.

Trailer cover

We will pay for loss of or accidental damage to any trailer, provided it's been added to the policy and the details have been given to us. Third party only cover applies whilst attached or temporarily detached. You are automatically covered to tow a trailer with third party cover, as long as you and your vehicle are in compliance with Road Traffic legislation.

Tool of trade cover

While your vehicle is being used as a tool of trade, we will provide cover to meet the minimum requirements of Road Traffic Act Legislation but excluding; subsidence, flooding, water pollution and damage to pipes and cables. The maximum liability we will cover is €6,400,000.

Step back no claim discount

We offer step back bonus protection as standard for customers who hold four or more years no claim discount. This means if you have a claim worth less than €10,000, you won’t lose your full no claim bonus discount, it will step back to two years. Claims greater than €10,000 will see your no claim discount reduced to nil.

Fire brigade charges

If there is a valid claim on your policy, we will pay for charges under the Fire Services Act 1981 where a fire brigade unit attend the scene of an accident. The most we will pay for fire brigade charges is €2,025.

This cover applies to comphrehensive policies only and policies which were bought or renewed from 17th February 2026.

Replacement locks, keys & transmitters

The most we will pay is €1,525 towards the cost of replacing and or recoding of locks, keys or similar devices for your vehicle if they are stolen:

a. from your permanent or temporary residence as a result of forcible entry or exit

b. arising out of an assault or threat of violence We will not pay: a. any costs if the theft of keys or similar devices is not reported to an Garda Síochána

c. the additional cost of importing any part from outside of the European Union. If you make a claim for this benefit, you will not have to pay an excess and it will not affect your NCB.

Breakdown assistance

Get peace of mind 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. protects you if you're involed in an accident, if you van breaks down due to mechanical or electrical issues like a flat battery, a puncture, keys broken in locks/locked in your van, if your van is filled with the wrong fuel or lubricant, your van runs out of fuel or if your electric van runs out of battery. Limits and exclusions apply.

Call from within the Republic of Ireland or from the UK (call operator charges may vary). If you have broken down, you can request and track your rescue . This service applies to polices with comprehensive cover only. Breakdown assistance is only available to comprehensive customers who have renewed or new business customers since 17th of February 2025.

This cover applies to comphrehensive policies only and policies which were bought or renewed from 17th February 2026.

If you opt for comprehensive cover, your cover is extended to include breakdown assistance, accidental damage, windscreen cover, fire brigade charges and replacement of locks. *Optional Extras provided at an additional cost and a mid-term adjustment fee may apply.

Protected No Claim discount

A no claim discount helps you save money on your van insurance. Every year you earn a no claim discount, you will receive a discount off your annual insurance premium. A protected no claim discount allows you to have two unlimited third party or accidental damage claims in any three year renewal period, without having an impact on your no claim discount. This means if you have two accidents and you claim on your policy it will not affect your no claim discount. Any more than two claims will result in your no claim discount being reduced by two years.

Excess

Standard excess is €250.

Additional voluntary excess of €250 is available and if selected will result in a reduced premium.

Fire Theft and Accidental Damage

We exclude damage while the vehicle is being driven by anyone who:-

is under 23 years of age

does not hold a full driving licence
