With Allianz Landlord insurance, we ensure cover for a range of rental properties.
Choose between our three packages to find the right cover for you, including Contents Only for apartment owners, Buildings Only for property owners, or avail of all cover and benefits with our most complete package Buildings and Contents. 

The Basics Package Cover

 If you are a landlord with a property rented out to tenants, Allianz Insurance has you covered! Take a look below to discover our basic cover details included in all landlord packages.
Cover your property and/or contents from fire, including smoke damage, explosion and lightning.

Cover for damage caused by storm and flooding. Exclusions may apply depending on the construction of the roof.

Please refer to the Home insurance policy document for further details of all exclusions.

We will cover the costs of any damages incurred or repairs needed as result of a sudden escape of water, including burst pipes or plumbing issues. Damage caused by gradual leaks, such as showers, baths, or sinks, is not covered.

Similarly, you are covered for any damages incurred as result of escape of or overflow of oil from any heating or fixed plumbing systems at the premises.

Cover your property and/or contents that are damaged, destroyed or stolen in the event of a break in, or an attempted break-in at the premises.

Your Landlord Insurance also includes cover for:

  • Subsidence or Landslide landslip.
  • Impact from vehicles including road, rail or aircraft.

We will compensate for the loss against all sums as result of damages to or injury caused by contents in the rental home which you become legally liable to pay, up to €3,000,000 in any one occurrence.

Please note: There is no cover for fixtures or fitting including flooring and kitchens unless requested to be noted on the policy.

We will cover loss of rent incurred should the property's conditions become uninhabitable following an insured event.

Or, we will cover the costs to provide alternative accomodation for your tenants along with storage for your contents.

The maximum we will pay under this benefit is 15% of the contents sums insured.

In the event of a sudden situation such as burst pipes, or becoming locked out of your rental property, we offer 24/7 365 assistance, up to 4 times a year, free of charge. This includes the cost of call outs, labour and materials up to €300 per incident.

Should you need a fire brigade assistance to your home as a result of an insured event, we will cover the charges up to €3000 and also if your garden faces any damages caused by emergency services (including ambulance and garda vehicles) up to €1,000.
Your policy covers the costs of replacing the external door locks and keys of the premises should they be stolen following a break-in.
We will cover the cost of replacing any loss of oil or metered water from a fixed domestic appliance, or any heating/ plumbing systems as result of any damages incurred by an insured event. We will cover up to €1000 for any one claim for loss of metered water.

The following benefits are also included within the Contents package:

We will cover all sums for which you as owner of the premises become legally liable to pay up to a limit  €3,000,000 in any one occurrence.
Cover for loss of rent due to you up to 15% buildings insured when the premises is deemed uninhabitable following damage by an insured peril.
In the event of a sudden situation such as burst pipes, or becoming locked out of the property, we offer 24/7 365 assistance, up to 4 times a year,. This includes the cost of call outs, labour and materials up to €300 per incident.
In the event fire brigade assistance is required as a result of an insured event we will cover the charges up to €3,000.
We will cover the costs of removing or replacing any part of the premises necessary to repair any fixed water or heating  installation where water, oil or gas has escaped up to €750.

In the event the property has to be rebuilt following a total or partial loss, the property will be rebuilt in line with current building regulations.

We will also cover:

  • Architects or Surveyors Fee
  • Debris Removal Costs
  • Public Authority Requirements Charge

Your policy also includes the following benefits:

  • Breakage of fixed glasses and sanitary fittings 
  • Purchasers interest
  • Satellite dishes and TV/ radio aerial damages up to a limit of €2,000
  • Service pipes and cables repairs or replacements following accidental damage

Landlord’s Insurance covers a range of insured perils to the premises you own and loss of rent if we deem the premises to be uninhabitable.
Landlords Liability is a cover in place to indemnify the cost of any injury or damage claims made by tenants which you are held legally responsible for up to a limit of €3,000,000.

Your policy covers the premises and/or your contents that you may have in the home while renting, including furniture and décor. A tenant cannot make a claim on your landlord policy for any damages caused to their personal possessions while living in your rental property.

We offer Renters Insurance to ensure cover for tenants and their contents.

There are many insurance companies out there that offer landlord insurance, so it can be confusing trying to pick the right one for you. When you are choosing your insurer, it is important to ensure they have the following main qualities:

While landlord insurance is not compulsory by law; it is recommended that any property owner secure their property in the event of any natural catastrophe. Your landlord policy will also indemnify you against all sums which you will be held legally liable to pay as the owner of the premises and also cover you, in the event the property becomes uninhabitable following damage caused by an insured peril for loss of rent.

Emergency Home Assistance is a dedicated service available 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year there to help you in the event of a sudden emergency, such as a water leak, door lock replacements, or broken glass or window.
