"The Allianz Pet Project" - How it works

At Allianz Ireland we understand how stressful it can be when your beloved pet is unwell. To help raise awareness of the importance of pet insurance, we’re running a limited campaign where we may surprise pet owners by paying off some or all of their pet’s veterinary bills through active GoFundMe fundraisers. 

Important Information – Please Read: 

• This is not a competition, prize draw, or promotion. There’s no entry, no application, and no purchase necessary. 
• We may select fundraisers at our sole discretion — you cannot apply, nominate, or influence our choice. 
• Payments may go directly to the veterinary clinic or the GoFundMe campaign, depending on the situation. 
• Our support is a goodwill payment only and is not part of any insurance policy or contract. 
• The contract for veterinary care is between the pet owner and the vet — we are not responsible for veterinary services, outcomes, or disputes. 
• Tax: You may be responsible for any taxes on funds received — we recommend you seek tax advice if needed.

Privacy Note: 
We will only use information made publicly available on GoFundMe. If we wish to share your story, we will always ask for your permission first. 

Any contribution made by Allianz Ireland is a one-off, discretionary goodwill payment and does not create any contract or ongoing obligation between us and any beneficiary or campaign organizer. The contract for veterinary services remains solely between the pet owner and the veterinary practice. Allianz Ireland accepts no liability for veterinary services, outcomes, or how funds are used. Payments are not considered a prize, competition win, or insurance claim.

1. Overview 
Allianz Ireland is undertaking an advertising activation whereby the company may, at its sole discretion, identify pet-related fundraisers on the GoFundMe platform and make payments directly toward veterinary fees associated with selected campaigns (“the Activation”). This is a goodwill gesture, undertaken solely for promotional and advertising purposes.
The Activation does not constitute a competition, promotion, lottery, prize draw, or contest. There is no application process, no skill test required, and no opportunity to influence selection.

 

2. Nature of Payment & Contractual Relationship 

• All payments made by Allianz Ireland as part of the Activation will be directed toward veterinary fees incurred by the pet owner, either directly or via the relevant GoFundMe campaign. 
• For the avoidance of doubt, the contractual relationship for veterinary services remains between the pet owner and the veterinary practice providing the pet medical services. 
• Allianz Ireland is not a party to any agreement between the pet owner and any veterinary practice or third party. 
• Allianz Ireland assumes no liability for any aspect of veterinary care, advice, services, or outcomes provided by the veterinary practice as part of the Activation. 
• Third party inclusion and participation in the Activation is entirely discretionary and at the exclusive direction alone of Allianz and their servants or agents. Nothing in these terms and conditions will infer or give rise to any entitlement on behalf of third parties to benefit from the terms of the Activation.

3. Eligibility for Consideration 

• Only GoFundMe campaigns relating to veterinary care costs for pets and based in the Republic of Ireland may be considered for participation in the Activation. 
• Campaigns must be publicly accessible and compliant with GoFundMe’s platform rules. 
• Selection for participation in the Activation is discretionary and final. No requests for inclusion, appeals, or nominations will be considered. 
• Neither employees of Allianz Ireland or their servants or agents, nor their family members shall be eligible for consideration for the Activation. 

4. Selection Process & No Entry Mechanism 

• No action, entry, purchase, or engagement is required by any party to be considered for participation in the Activation. 
• Selection for participation in the Activation is made at the sole discretion of Allianz Ireland. 
• This initiative is not open to public entry and is not a promotional competition.

5. Payment Terms 

• Payments will be made directly through the GoFundMe or the veterinary practice, as determined by Allianz Ireland. 
• Payment amounts and recipients are at the sole discretion of Allianz Ireland and may vary. 
• Once paid, Allianz Ireland has no further obligations and accepts no responsibility for how funds are applied, spent, or distributed. 

 

6. Tax & Financial Implications

• Pet owners or campaign organizers are solely responsible for any tax liabilities that may arise as a result of receiving payments through this activation. 
• Allianz Ireland strongly recommends independent tax advice, as sums received may be considered gifts or otherwise subject to Irish tax law, including Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT). 
• GoFundMe fees or third-party processing charges may apply, for which Allianz Ireland is not responsible. 

 

7. Privacy and Publicity

• Only information publicly available on GoFundMe will be accessed during the selection process. 
• No personal data will be collected unless explicit consent is obtained. 
• Allianz Ireland may request permission to share the story of selected beneficiaries for advertising or promotional purposes. Consent will be required before any personal story is shared. 

 

8. Limitation of Liability

• Allianz Ireland accepts no liability for: 
    - The vet treatment outcome, veterinary services, or advice received by any pet owner;
    - Any dispute between the pet owner and the veterinary practice;
    - The accuracy or legitimacy of any GoFundMe campaign;
    - Any loss, damage, or injury resulting from participation in or reliance on this activation.
• It is agreed by the third party beneficiaries of the Activation that payment by Allianz of funds under the Activation does not create any contractual relationship between Allianz Ireland and the pet owner, beneficiary or veterinary practice. 

 

9. General Provisions 

• Allianz Ireland reserves the right to withdraw, amend, or terminate this activation at any time without notice. 
• These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. 
• By accepting a payment, GoFundMe campaign organizers or beneficiaries acknowledge, accept and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. 
• Allianz Ireland reserves the right to amend, modify, or update the Terms and Conditions of the Activation at any time at its sole discretion. Any such amendments will be effective immediately upon posting on the official Allianz Ireland website or through other communication channels deemed appropriate by Allianz Ireland. It is the responsibility of participants and beneficiaries to review these Terms and Conditions periodically to stay informed of any changes. By continuing to participate in the Allianz Pet Project activation following any amendments, participants and beneficiaries acknowledge and agree to be bound by the revised Terms and Conditions. Allianz Ireland shall not be liable for any claims or losses arising from participants' failure to review updated Terms and Conditions.
