Staff Personal Accident Cover included as standard
With school sports days and outdoor activities coming up, it’s a good time to remember the protection already in place for your staff.
As part of our Schools Insurance policy, Staff Personal Accident cover is included as standard. This means your school has additional protection and peace of mind at no extra cost.
What is Staff Personal Accident cover?
In simple terms, this cover is designed to support staff if they’re injured in an accident while carrying out a school related activity.
If a member of the Board of Management, a teacher, or another permanent employee suffers an accidental injury connected to their work for the school, the policy gives cover by paying medical expenses that can’t be recovered from another source, or by providing a benefit directly to the injured person . Medical, dental and optical expenses are covered up to €30,000. For more serious injuries, benefit amounts are set out in the table below.
When does the cover apply?
Staff Personal Accident cover applies to accidents linked to authorised school activities. This can include events such as:
- sports days and PE activities
- school trips or outings
- other authorised school related duties
This cover provides reassurance that staff medical costs will be covered without the need for a legal action, if the unexpected happens.
