Whether you are saving up to buy a home, go on a holiday, or simply treat yourself to a new phone, you likely won’t want to pay out of pocket for something unexpected like fire damage or a broken TV in your apartment. Renter’s Insurance can offer you protection that helps provide peace of mind. But what is the monthly cost of renter’s insurance, and is it worth the price?

The Basics

Starting at just €10 per month, essentially the price of a Spotify subscription, you’ll get standard cover. Your belongings are protected for up to €20,000, and you yourself are protected against a liability claim if a visitor gets injured while in your home.

When making a claim, you’ll only pay the first €250* and then we pay the rest!

*A standard excess of €250 applies. Escape of water and subsidence may have a higher excess.

A More Complete Package

If you’re looking for a little extra protection, consider our more complete package at an average of €15.08 per month and provides cover for personal effects outside of the home and accidental damage. Plus, you’re covered up to €2,000 for any single item with no excess! This means while you’ll pay a little more each month, in the event of an accident you won’t be out of pocket if the value of your claim is less than €2,000. In the more complete package, you can claim up to €2,000 in one claim. But don’t worry – once your quote is complete, you can call us to discuss extending this limit to suit your needs.

Renter Insurance Monthly Cost

Okay but how much is this going to cost per month? For less than the cost of one cinema ticket** per month you can protect yourself and your belongings for up to the value you determine as the sum of contents insured. Not sure how the price stacks up? Take a look at the cost of basic renters insurance compared to a few monthly subscriptions:

**Based on the price of 1 standard adult ticket at IMC, a standard adult ticket at Omniplex, and a standard adult ticket at Cineworld.

Keep in mind that your landlord’s insurance policy won’t protect you, the renter. The price of renter’s insurance can be worthwhile to help provide peace of mind that you and your possessions are covered.
