Accidents happen! But there’s no need to cry over spilled wine. Accidental damage cover is an optional extra on a home insurance policy, including renters insurance, which will protect you in the event of an accident.

What is Accidental Damage Cover?

Help avoid the dread of a TV being knocked over, dropping a Blu-ray player, or an electrical surge blowing out your speakers.

With Allianz’s The Basics renter’s package, you’ll automatically get coverage for accidental damage to audio and audio-visual equipment for up to €1,300*. This includes (but is not limited to) items such as a TV, sound bar, or surround sound stereo system, to name a few.

Extended Accidental Damage Cover

As an optional extra for the Allianz More Complete Package, you can cover all of your belongings for accidental damage with no limit*! Enjoy a glass of red wine on the sofa after a long day, stress-free.

Some other examples include (but are not limited to):

• Accidentally knocking a mirror off a wall
• Placing a hot item on a glass table and shattering it
• Your child throws a ball and it breaks a window
• A laptop is dropped in the home
• Coffee is spilled on your expensive rug

Accidental damage claims apply a standard excess of €250, meaning you pay the first €250, and we pay the rest up to the total of your contents insured. A higher excess may apply to escape of water and subsidence.

Is Accidental Damage Cover Worth It?
